Things I've learned from bike commuting

  1. Drivers with Obama stickers on their bumpers are not necessarily better drivers. In fact, it may be an inverse relationship.
  2. Never, ever trust that drivers will signal their intentions. They are more likely to run you over with glee.
  3. Cold weather biking will make you a better biker. Balance improves quickly when your hands are too frozen to brake and your feet are the size of elephants.
  4. The bike lane is really just an extra parking lane with an occasional biker weaving in and out.
  5. Bike commuting is the MOST REWARDING life change I have ever made.
